Lone Road in a Valley of Snow - A desolate highway in the middle of nowhere, Idaho.

This photo was taken with the s-curve and rule of thirds in mind, along with a bit of snow in the foreground to give it depth.

Z with Glass - Contemplating the ingredients of a perfect concoction.

I love this portrait. I really played with the rim light that highlights the back of Z's hair and my depth of field focus. If you look at my "portrait tests" folder, you'll see the same image only with her glass of liquid in focus, while she is out of focus.

Troy in Tree - Life is good.

I worked with diagonals and the rule of thirds in this particular photograph of Troy. I like the blown out depth I was able to acquire in this photo.

Self Portrait - Adjusting the camera for that perfect shot.

I worked with depth of field in this self-portrait, where my hand, face, and background all have a different depth.

Tic-Tac-Toe - Let the games begin.

In this particular shot, I made sure to keep the tops of the shot glasses in a straight line, while aligning my depth of field. I had fun adding a touch of color and intrigue with the playing cards.

Osiris the Cat - Osiris, a "Lord of the Rings Fan" is looking for his Precious.

Working with cats is not easy. Luckily, I managed to snap a few photos of my cat, Osiris, sitting behind a Lord of the Rings chess set. I enjoyed testing the depth of field and composition with a moving cat on this shot.

Rain on Windshield - As the rain gathers, so do my thoughts.

I captured this shot in the midst of a rain storm on the side of some random highway in Idaho. Those shapes in the background are large carved stone sculptures with funny faces carved into them. To the viewer's left of this photo is an eerie dirt road that leads to a cave in the middle of nowhere. The difference between the falling rain and the smiling faces carved into stone really caught my attention.

Flags in the Wind - Despite everything, I still support my country.

I'm not one for taking photos of flags, but we had a huge wind storm blow through Idaho on a Sunday. Instead of stopping on the freeway to attempt to capture the massive rolling sage brush crossing the road, I instead stopped at a rest area to grab a shot of the frantic flags waving in the wind. I placed the pole holding the flags on the right 1/3 of the photo.

Goodbye - Director's Cut

Saying goodbye is never easy.

Short film created for Composition and Digital Design for Digital Cinematography, at Full Sail University. This version has been extended from the original and color corrected in post-production. There are still many aspects that I can do differently to enhance this film, but without reshooting, this is what I was able to accomplish. Overall, I am quite pleased with my first student film and am eternally grateful to my cast and crew.

Goodbye:
